Art DNA is a three-minute quiz that matches your visual instincts against ten historical schools of Indian painting — from Mughal courts to Kalighat street satire to the living tradition of Madhubani. There are no right answers, only the paintings you're drawn to.
Each of the ten questions is a pair (or small set) of real paintings, chosen to sit at opposite ends of one visual dimension: order, emotion, density, figuration and tradition. Your picks are averaged into a single five-dimension vector, which is then matched against each school's own vector — the closest school wins, and every school maps to one of eight result identities.

Art DNA is an Art School Stories experience by Project Bhaskar, a small studio in Ajmer writing about Indian art history for people who never studied it.
Every artwork in the quiz is sourced from Wikimedia Commons under a public-domain or open licence. Full attribution — artist, licence and a link back to the original file — is on the image credits page.
